We had a HUGE double recliner sofa and a fallen tree (and all of it's debris) to get removed. I contacted a few different junk removal companies (including a couple of the national ones) with detailed information about the items. They all wanted to come by and look to give an "estimate." If it's just going to be an estimate, why waste time and money (gas) to come by and see what I already showed you (with detailed photos)? David of American Junk Removal was actually the quickest to reply with an actual quote! He and his assistant arrived well within the scheduled time period, handled the job quickly, courteously and professionally and charged me the quoted price! I also love the fact that this is a local Marietta company. If you have anything you need to be rid of, bypass the runaround from those national big boy companies and use a local business who believes in top flight customer service. I would definitely use David and American Junk Removal again if needed.

How to Get Rid of Junk

Are you tired of clutter piling up in your home or office space? Are you surrounded by unwanted items that are taking up valuable space? If so, you’re not alone. Junk removal is a common challenge for many people, but the good news is that solutions are available. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore effective strategies for getting rid of junk and reclaiming your space once and for all.

Assess Your Junk:

The first step in the junk removal process is to assess the items you want to get rid of. Take a thorough inventory of your space and identify the items that are no longer serving a purpose or bringing you joy. Whether it’s old furniture, appliances, electronics, or general household clutter, list everything that needs to go.

Sort and Organize:

Once you’ve identified the items you want to remove, it’s time to sort and organize them. Separate items into categories such as recyclables, donations, and trash. This will make the removal process more efficient and help you determine the best disposal method for each item.

What to do with Paint:

There are safe and environmentally friendly ways to dispose of paint you can’t reuse or recycle, including placing them in the regular trash. There are a few simple “tricks of the trade” we’d like to share to show you how. It’s a way of “rethinking” and “reducing” the need to make that trip to the transfer station.

One way to dry the paint is to simply remove the lid and allow the moisture in the paint to evaporate. Be sure to do this in an open and well-ventilated area. Also, make sure that children and animals do not have access to paint. Once the paint is dried, it can be safely disposed of in the regular trash.

There’s also the “kitty litter” approach, as described here: 1

1. Add equal parts kitty litter to latex paint in the can (one part paint to one part kitty litter). If you have more than half a can, you can also pour the paint into a lined cardboard box and then pour in cat litter.

2. Stir the cat litter into the paint until it has an oatmeal-like consistency that will not spill out.

3. Allow the paint and cat litter mixture to sit for one hour.

4. Throw the dried paint in the can in the garbage with the lid off.

DIY Removal:

For smaller junk removal projects, you can handle the removal process yourself. Renting a dumpster or hiring a junk removal truck can be cost-effective options for disposing of unwanted items. However, remember that some items may require special disposal methods, so be sure to research local regulations and guidelines before disposing of them.

Professional Junk Removal Services:

For larger or more complex junk removal projects like shed or hot tub removal, enlisting the help of professional junk removal services can save you time, effort, and hassle. Companies like American Junk Removal Co. offer comprehensive junk removal services tailored to your needs. With their expertise and equipment, they can safely and efficiently remove large items, heavy furniture, and bulky appliances from your space.
